HOW TO TAKE Prevacid SoluTab ?
Each Prevacid SoluTab is strawberry flavoured and contains many, very
small gastro-resistant granules which provide the active ingredient
lansoprazole. The tablet can be placed on the tongue and gently sucked or,
if preferred, swallowed whole with a drink of water. Sucking the tablet will
quickly dissolve it in your mouth, releasing the gastro-resistant granules
which are swallowed with your saliva. The tablets should not be chewed
or crushed as this could damage the gastro-resistant granules and your
medicine may not work properly.
The dose of Prevacid SoluTab depends on your condition and you should take your
medicine exactly as your doctor has told you to.
. Your doctor will tell you how long your treatment with ZOTON will last.
Do not stop treatment early because your symptoms have got better.
. Read the chemist's label to remind you how many tablets you should
take and when you should take them.
. If you are taking Prevacid SoluTab once a day, try to take it at the same time each
day. You may get the best results if you take ZOTON first thing in the
morning before breakfast.
. If you are taking Prevacid SoluTab twice a day, you should have the first dose in
the morning before breakfast and the second dose in the evening.
oesophagus (gullet)

Prevacid SoluTab is bioequivalent to Prevacid capsules, does not require dose conversion, and can be used to treat the same conditions.
• Shortness of breath, face swelling or another symptom of a serious
allergic reaction.
• Rash.
• Reddening or blistering of your skin.
• Yellowing of your skin or whites of your eyes.
• Fever.
• Unexplained bruising or bleeding.
• You feel very tired.
• Difficulty urinating.
While these are serious side effects that require urgent medical attention,
they are very rare.
Other rare side effects include kidney problems, inflammation of the liver
or changes in your kidney or liver function. The natural acid in your
stomach helps to kill bacteria. Taking medicines like ZOTON that reduce
the amount of acid in the stomach can lead to certain stomach infections.
You should see your doctor as soon as possible if you:
• Get very bad or persistent diarrhoea.
• Keep being sick (vomiting).
As with other proton pump inhibitors, men taking Prevacid SoluTab may
experience breast swelling or impotence. This is, however, very unlikely to
happen to you. The milder side effects of Prevacid SoluTab are: headaches,
diarrhoea, stomach pain, feelings of sickness, being sick (vomiting),
changes in the way things taste, dizziness, vertigo, confusion, blurred
vision, hallucinations, feeling unwell, constipation, wind, dry or sore
mouth and throat, tiredness, burning or prickling feeling, itching, hair
thinning, sensitivity to light, muscle or joint pain, fluid retention, swelling
and depression.
If any of these effects are severe or bother you, see your doctor.
You should also tell your doctor if you have any unwanted effect
not listed above.
Before you have any kind of surgery, tell the doctor in charge that you are
taking Prevacid SoluTab .
