Aromasin (Exemestane) is an aromatase inhibitor used to treat some types of breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Aromasin may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Aromasin (exemestane tablets) is used for advanced breast cancer. It is used to treat women who have gone through menopause and whose cancer has progressed after taking tamoxifen. Aromasin prevents estrogen from being made. In contrast, tamoxifen does not stop the body from making estrogen. Rather, it blocks estrogen itself on the cancer cell to prevent cancer growth.
Aromasin Side Effects that may occur while taking Aromasin include hot flashes, fatigue, increased sweating, nausea, dizziness, increased appetite, or unexplained weight gain. If Aromasin Side Effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience depression or other Aromasin Side Effects.
