Clindamycin is an antibiotic that is available in a variety of forms. It is used to treat conditions that are caused by infection with certain types of bacteria. The topical solution is used to treat acne. It may take up to 8 weeks for improvement to be seen. It is very important that this medication be used on a regular schedule as prescribed by the doctor. If you miss a dose of this medication, use it as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and carry on with your regular schedule. Do not double-up on doses.
<br><br>Apply a thin film of the solution twice a day to the area to be treated. Before applying the solution, wash and dry the skin on the affected area.
The following side effects may go away as your body becomes used to the medicine; check with your doctor if they continue or become bothersome: dryness, scaliness, or peeling of skin. Less common side effects are abdominal pain, diarrhea (mild), irritation or oiliness of skin, stinging or burning feeling of skin.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur: skin rash, itching, redness, swelling, or other sign of irritation not present before using this medication.
